Design guide

This section of pages aims to talk about the things that visually make a Crystali. This page is an outline of the basics, but each Crystali Subspecies is further broken down in the other pages. There is also a Trait Chart that explains what is considered common, or rare for ease of understanding.

A Basic Introduction

Welcome to a basic guide to Crystali! Crystali are digitrade anthropomorphic critters. They are extremely flexible and have very few restrictions when it comes to their appearance. They are characterized by the crystal growths on their bodies, and the soft trail of mist emitting from their tails. Any exposed bone such as claws, spines, and even their teeth (although not always the same color as the rest of their crystals) are all made of crystal.

Subspecies

Crystali can vary in appearance and ability levels depending on what type they are. The most plentiful species of Crystali are the Commons, followed closely by Mystics.

There also exists a third subspecies most often referred to as Draconic Crystali. They are a rare hybrid type and are very elusive.

Fur

The colors of their fur can vary a lot. There is no restriction to how many colors are in a Crystali’s fur, or how complex their markings are. Generally the color of their fur is a bit more muted and there’s a lot of contrast between their cast channels and fur, but there are some very neon individuals out there.

Common and Mystic Crystali cannot have scales/must have 100% fur coverage. The only exception would be for injuries.

Hair

Hair and hairstyles vary immensely. Some appear to have more of a “mane” and others have long hair that grows out and can be styled. Their hairstyles often include fur from their ears or cheeks.

Ears

Ears come in all shapes and sizes.

Hands & Feet

For the most part, Crystali have paws for feet. Some different styles have been spotted like hoofs and talons. They are always digitrade.

Their hands are pretty much always the same as humans'. 4 fingers and a thumb. The length of claws and whatnot can vary a lot. For the most part, the only drastic changes to hands occur from Hybridizing with dragons and are therefore restricted to Draconic Crystali.
